Kia ora koutou

It’s certainly been a surreal few days for Tāmaki Makaurau.

On behalf of Aktive, we hope you, your whānau and your teams are safe – it’s an incredibly difficult time for many people, communities and businesses across Auckland.

We’re here to help, support and provide as much information as possible so together we can best navigate these challenges. Please know you’re not alone.

This communication aims to provide a few key updates following on from what we sent out on Saturday.

Auckland Emergency Management

Click here for the latest information on building assessments, disposing of waste, transport and other aspects of support. This website is regularly updated with the latest developments.

Auckland Council – logging issues

If you have issues and challenges with your clubs please log these here:  http://www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/report-problem

As you’ll appreciate, Council call centres are overloaded and, by logging matters via this link, you’ll best support the prioritisation process that is underway by Council and associated service providers.

In addition to logging your issues here, please also connect with Aktive so we are aware of your issue and challenge. This will potentially enable us to provide further support or advocacy to get your matter worked through. You can either email: enquiries@aktive.org.nz or call your usual contact at Aktive to make us aware.

Further support

We understand the urgent priorities are whānau, home and communities, and we also appreciate that many will be working through what support is needed at this time. This may include counselling, financial assistance, office space and facility requirements. We are working on appropriate support for a number of these areas as immediate priorities and will provide further details once confirmed.

What we can share right now is:

EAP Service information

Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Services can be reached here: https://www.eapservices.co.nz/ or on 0800 327 669.

Temporary office space

We have confirmed a number of temporary, fully functional office spaces that are available for sector use. If your usual base has been impacted, please get in touch with us so we can talk you through these options. All are free of charge.

Funders Meeting

We are having live discussions with Sport NZ, Auckland Council and the major funders of sport and recreation in Auckland to ascertain what help is available to the sector. We are bringing this group of funders together on Tuesday afternoon so understanding as many of your issues by this time would be very helpful.
