Join us for a conversation on the asset management of community sport and recreation facilities in Tāmaki Makaurau led by Brett Young, Director of Community Asset Solutions.

This webinar will cover managing the life cycle of physical assets, such as buildings, playing surfaces, equipment, and furniture. It will also provide insights into how to ensure facilities are resilient to extreme conditions and sufficiently insured.

The sport and recreation sector in Tāmaki Makaurau has a diverse stock of facilities – from club rooms and changing rooms to tennis courts and running tracks. Many are decades old, often built with volunteer labour, and have been poorly maintained. Some are coming towards the end of their useful life and no longer represent places valued by our communities.

We know funding sources for our facilities are changing, becoming harder to access and, in some cases, reducing. It is crucial to prioritise the maintenance of existing assets to ensure they are resilient to extreme conditions and sufficiently insured, as highlighted by Auckland’s recent climate events.

We’ll cover these topics and more at this webinar which is further supported by an updated Facilities Toolkit that Aktive is launching.

Don't miss this opportunity to learn about essential aspects of running a sporting facility at this an ‘open invitation’ event.
