Dr. Ralph Pim


Dr. Ralph Pim is an inspirational teacher, dynamic team builder, energetic leader and author. He is recognized as a national expert in character and leader development through sport. Throughout his 41-year career, Pim has developed leaders of character and built teams of significance as a teacher, coach, mentor, athletic administrator, and physical education chairperson. After serving as a Professor of Physical Education and Director of Competitive Sports for 12 years at the United States Military Academy at West Point, Dr. Pim is now sharing his experiences and expertise globally as a speaker and consultant. He is an international consultant for the Singapore Ministry of Education’s Physical Education and Sports Teacher Academy and works with Quantum Sports and Aktive's Coaching & Talent Development unit in New Zealand.

At West Point, Dr. Pim created and implemented a values-based sports curriculum that received global recognition. The number of collegiate national championships tripled in 5 years, and a total of 36 national titles were won during his tenure. At the same time, grade point averages increased while disciplinary problems decreased. Dr. Pim and his staff were selected one of the "15 Most Influential Sports Education Teams in America" by the Institute for International Sport. In 2009, Dr. Pim was one of 12 educators chosen as a Sports Ethics Fellow by The Positive Coaching Alliance at Stanford University and the Institute for International Sport.
